You’re already designing an art car for next year’s Burning Man, and you can’t stop talking about the endemic plants of the genus Ipomoea that were recently put in to protect the coastal zone near your home.
Well, we’ve got some good news for you: Beginning Wednesday, October 21, it’s time to let your Geek flag fly!
Come to Lawrence Hall of Science, grab a drink and a friend, and get ready for some downright nerdy fun. All events include full access to exhibits, a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, and of course the best view in the East Bay.
October 21: Geek Performance
Gain unique insights into the mysteries of the universe in this live, multimedia performance by an award-winning artist.
November 18: Geek Challenge
See if you’ve got what it takes to survive on Mars, and get a chance to design your own base on the Red Planet.
December 10: Geek Talk
Is space really the final frontier? Hear from an SETI astronomer about why we must colonize space.
Programs are for adults only. You can act like a kid, you just can't be one.
Geek Out in 2010
Details on next year’s events will be available in December. Programs will be related to our upcoming exhibit on race and include topics like biology, genetics, sustainability, and the environment.

Plenty of paid parking is available.
Don’t drink and drive, take the Geek Out Shuttle instead. Shuttle pick up location is at the corner of Shattuck Avenue and Center Street next to Downtown Berkeley BART. Just look for the shuttle bus with Geek Out signs in the windows.
Pick up starts at 7:00 p.m. The final shuttle from Lawrence Hall of Science to Downtown Berkeley BART will be 10:15 p.m. at the end of the event.
Other public transportation options:
Bear Transit Hill (H) line from the Hearst Mining Circle or the AC Transit Line 65.
